Terms of Use
These Terms set out the rules for using FindColor.space — what you may do with the colors and palettes you create here, what we ask of you in return, and what we can and cannot promise. Please read them; by using the site you agree to them.
The short version
- The site is free, and you do not need an account to use the tools.
- Palettes you create are yours. Use them in personal or commercial work, no attribution needed, no fee.
- Colors themselves belong to nobody — we claim no rights over the values you generate.
- Do not abuse the service: no automated scraping, no attacks, no illegal or infringing images.
- The site is provided “as is”. We do our best, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available or error-free.
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and FindColor.space (“FindColor”, “we”, “us”). They apply whenever you visit the site or use any of its tools, with or without an account.
If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. If you use it on behalf of a company or client, you confirm that you are entitled to accept these Terms for them.
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy form part of this agreement.
2. What FindColor does
FindColor is an online tool for working with color. It lets you generate palettes and explore color harmonies, extract a palette from an image, arrange references on a moodboard, preview colors in context, export them in common design formats, and — if you create an account — save palettes to your personal library.
The service is currently provided free of charge. We may add, change or remove features over time as the product develops.
3. Who may use it
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are younger, you may only use the site with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and you should not register.
You may not use the service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law, or if we have previously terminated your access.
4. Your account
- Provide an email address that is genuinely yours, so we can confirm your account and help you recover it.
- Keep your password confidential. Everything done through your account is treated as done by you.
- Do not share your account or let others log in with it.
- Tell us at [email protected] as soon as you suspect unauthorised access.
- You may delete your account at any time; doing so removes your saved palettes and history.
5. Your content
“Your content” means anything you bring to or create on the site: images you open in the palette-from-image tool or the moodboard, palettes you generate, and the names or notes you give them.
You keep all rights to your content. We claim no ownership of it. For saved palettes, you give us only the narrow permission we need to run the service — to store them and show them back to you in your account. That permission ends when you delete the palette or your account.
Images are handled entirely inside your browser: they are not uploaded to us and we never store them. Even so, you are responsible for the files you open — you confirm that you own them or are otherwise entitled to use them, and that they are not unlawful.
6. The palettes you create
Individual colors and color values such as HEX or RGB codes are facts, not creative works, and cannot be owned by anyone — including us.
Palettes you generate on FindColor are free for you to use, in personal and commercial projects alike. No licence fee, no attribution, no permission needed. The same applies to files you export from the site, such as ASE, ACO, SVG or PDF swatches.
Two things worth knowing. First, because color values cannot be owned, another person may independently arrive at the same palette — we cannot grant you exclusivity over it. Second, a palette is not a trademark or logo check: if you build a brand around it, the responsibility for making sure your final design does not conflict with someone else’s rights remains yours.
7. Our content
The site itself — its design, code, text, layout, the FindColor name and logo — belongs to us and is protected by copyright and trademark law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the site for its intended purpose.
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, you may not:
- copy, republish or mirror the site or substantial parts of it;
- use our name or logo in a way that suggests a partnership or endorsement;
- rebrand the service or offer it to others as if it were your own.
8. Acceptable use
When using FindColor, you agree not to:
- break any applicable law, or infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
- upload or process images that are illegal, or that depict abuse or exploitation;
- attempt to gain access to accounts, data or systems that are not yours;
- probe, scan or test the security of the site, or interfere with its normal operation;
- use bots, scrapers or automated scripts to harvest content or hammer the service with requests;
- place an unreasonable load on our infrastructure, or attempt to disrupt availability for others;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract our source code beyond what the law expressly permits;
- resell, rent or commercially redistribute access to the service itself;
- introduce malware, or use the site to distribute spam or harmful content.
If you break these rules we may limit, suspend or terminate your access, and where the conduct is serious or unlawful we may report it to the competent authorities.
9. Availability and changes to the service
We would like the site to be available at all times, but we cannot promise it. Access may be interrupted by maintenance, updates, technical failures, network problems or events outside our control.
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service, including individual features and export formats. If a change would result in the permanent loss of content you have saved, we will give you reasonable notice where it is practical to do so. Because the service is free, we are not obliged to maintain it indefinitely.
We recommend exporting anything you rely on. FindColor is a design tool, not a backup service.
10. Third-party services and links
The site depends on third-party infrastructure to operate, and may contain links to external websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their availability or their practices. Following an external link is at your own discretion.
11. Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
In particular, we do not warrant that:
- the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or free of errors;
- the results it produces will meet your expectations or suit your particular project;
- colors will appear identically on your screen, on someone else’s screen, or in print — color rendering depends on the display, its calibration, the operating system, the printing process and the material;
- any contrast, accessibility or harmony indication in the tools is sufficient on its own to meet a specific standard or regulation. Please verify anything that matters in your own production environment.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FindColor will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost business, lost opportunities, or lost or corrupted data arising out of your use of — or inability to use — the service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for intentional misconduct. If you are a consumer, your mandatory rights under the law of your country of residence are unaffected by these Terms.
13. Indemnity
If your use of the service breaches these Terms or the law and that causes a third party to bring a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result, to the extent the claim is attributable to your conduct.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using FindColor at any time and delete your account from your Account page.
We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if your use puts the service or other users at risk, or if we are required to do so by law. Where the circumstances allow, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — such as those on our content, disclaimers and liability — will continue to apply.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service evolves or the law changes. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version. If a change is significant, we will make it clearly visible on the site. Continuing to use FindColor after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not, please stop using the service and, if you wish, delete your account.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law applicable at the place where the operator of FindColor.space is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection rules, you also keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
We would much rather solve a problem than argue about it. Please write to us first at [email protected] and we will try to sort it out directly.
17. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy and Cookie Policies, form the whole agreement between us regarding the service.
- Severability. If a provision turns out to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we do not give it up.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may transfer ours if the service moves to a new owner.
- Language. These Terms are written in English; any translation is provided for convenience only.
18. Contact
Questions about these Terms are welcome at [email protected], or through our Contact page.
